Video series: A Winemaker’s Vision

Kendall Jackson winemaker Randy Ullom is a legend in Northern California. The ask was to create a series of videos that would celebrate his mastery of the art of creating beautiful wines year after year.

I interviewed Randy and turned his story into what may be the first docu-poetry series about winemaking.

Watching the seasons, listening to the wind, reading the fog.

It is a story you can taste and smell and see. For a winemaker, each vintage has its own story to tell.

It is told through the soil, the vines, the barrels.

“No better place to be than here.”

The Anderson Valley is an ideal place for growing pinot noir. The proximity to the coast creates a wine that’s beautiful to drink both now, and later.

Yes, part of my payment for this work was in wine. Not complaining.
